The Trek Factory Racing pro cycling team chooses TRX Suspension Training to develop strong cores, full-body strength, mobility and flexibility. Whether they’re in training camp, the Tour of California or grand tours like the Giro d’Italia and Tour de France, Trek Factory Racing take the TRX everywhere they go. To start their season right, TRX Training and Development Manager Dan McDonogh was brought in to work with Fabian Cancellara, Jens Voigt, Frank and Andy Schleck and the rest of the team at their first training camp in Benidorm, Spain. He showed them how to use the Suspension Trainer to tune their bodies to be stronger, more durable and more capable of putting power to the pedals without leaking watts due to imbalances and asymmetries.
After long days on the bike, the riders develop significant tension in their hips, legs and lower backs. McDonogh took extra care to show the team how TRX can be used to help relieve tension and increase total-body mobility and flexibility. In this video, cycling legend and Trek Factory Racing team member Jens Voigt reflects on the benefits of TRX training for cyclists.
